Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Kaemit is designed with privacy in mind. We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the Service and do not sell, share, or monetise your data in any way.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the following data when you use the Service:

• IP address — used solely for rate limiting to prevent abuse. It is held in-memory and is not persisted to disk or any database.
• Download URL and selected options — transmitted to our server to process your website download request. Temporary download session metadata is held in server memory and is not persisted to disk or any database.
• Website session and preference cookies — used only for token login state and local download preferences.
• Search query (Lyrics API) — the song title and optional artist name you submit to /lyric. Not stored after the response is returned.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
• We do not create user accounts or require registration.
• We do not run analytics, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting scripts.
• We do not share any data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

4. Temporary Files

Downloaded files are written to a temporary directory on the server solely to process and stream the file to your browser. Website download session metadata stays in memory, and temporary files are automatically deleted after the 30-minute session window expires. We do not retain copies of any downloaded content.

5. Third-Party Services

Kaemit interacts with the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

• Supported media platforms — requested music, videos, social posts, and clips are fetched directly from the source service via Kaemit's download pipeline. Your IP address and requested URL may be visible to that service, and its own privacy policy applies.
• Qobuz and MangaDex — when enabled, requested content is fetched directly from those services. Your query may be visible to the service as part of the request, and their own privacy policies apply.
• Lyrics providers — the lyrics API may query external lyric sources. Your song query may be visible to those providers.
• Google Fonts — the Inter typeface is loaded from Google Fonts. This may result in a connection to Google's servers. You may refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the Service from abuse. Because we do not store personal data persistently, the risk of a data breach is minimal. Nonetheless, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmitted to the Service.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Service, please contact us so we can address it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
